Choosing a Bas bath: description and customer reviews

Over the past few years, acrylic bathtubs have gained immense popularity among consumers, as their technical characteristics and appearance are much superior to those of their counterparts made from other materials. Their advantages include light weight, ability to retain heat, ease of care, reasonable cost and much more. But choosing acrylic bathtubs is still a difficult task for most buyers, since such products are presented in a huge assortment on the market.

Acrylic bathtubs: which ones are better to take?

The ratings of foreign and domestic manufacturers, as well as instructions for choosing quality products, will help you understand the features and parameters of bathtubs.

Features of acrylic bathtubs Bas

Rectangular bathtub BAS

The baths have a durable frame and an environmentally friendly acrylic coating made in Europe. Each model is designed with ergonomics in mind - the structural features of the human body are taken into account. Some products are equipped with massage equipment, which can be installed separately for an additional fee. All acrylic products have perfectly smooth side surfaces, which allows them to be placed close to the wall.

Bas bathtubs are divided into 4 main categories:

  • rectangular;
  • symmetrical;
  • asymmetrical;
  • standard.

The “Standard” line is designed for apartments of standard construction. “Rectangular” are similar to “standard” in their shape, but differ in size and content. “Symmetrical” ones are based on the shape of an isosceles triangle, “asymmetrical” ones come in both triangular and trapezoidal shapes. These models are designed for installation in larger premises: in modern apartments, private houses with a large bathroom.

Bass

Bas is another Russian brand. To manufacture products, we use Italian equipment and high-quality acrylic, reliable accessories made in Europe.

The company's office is located in Moscow and has representative offices in several cities of Russia. The company offers:

  • hydromassage acrylic baths;
  • shower cabins;
  • corners;
  • accessories.

Models found:

  • rectangular;
  • corner;
  • original form.

For example, the Alegra bathtub has a semicircular shape with dimensions of 150x90 cm, has six nozzles, and a metal frame. The Verona product has the same bathing area, only it is smaller in width - 70 cm. This is a standard option for most of our apartment layouts. The product has a special bottom design that does not allow a stream of water to hit the surface with a roar.

An excellent solution is the Bass Imperial product, which can accommodate two people, although the size is very small - 150x50 cm. The model is equipped with six nozzles with a thoughtful arrangement to obtain the most pleasant sensations.

The Iris model has nine jets, which allows you to achieve a more intense massage.

The Bas Laguna bathtub has a seating area, so it is convenient to even take a shower, and not just draw water into a container.

Corner products look great and are very easy to use: Sagra, Florida, Vectra.

Popular models for apartments and country houses

Acrylic bathtub Bas “Cameron”

When choosing a bath, you should take into account the requirements of all family members, as well as the area and condition of the room.

As a rule, shower rooms in apartments have a small area - it will not be possible to install a large asymmetrical corner bathtub, so standard, rectangular or small corner ones are installed. For standard layouts, models with dimensions of 1.6x0.7 m, as well as compact ones of 1.2x0.7, are manufactured. The most inexpensive and popular bathtub of this size is “Cameron”, its cost is approximately 10,000 rubles. The hydromassage set is paid separately.

In private houses, when the room area is sufficient to accommodate a large bathtub, you need to pay attention to the reliability of the floor (especially when installed on the second floor) - if the ceilings are weak, they may not withstand and break when filling the bathtub with water. Otherwise, the choice is limited by the layout, size of the room, and the buyer’s budget. When purchasing a model with hydromassage equipment, for its proper operation, it is necessary to take into account the load on the electrical network and the level of water pressure in the pipes.

The Laguna corner bathtub is popular among BAS clients. This model is designed for large rooms, has dimensions of 1700 x 1100 mm, depth - 44 cm. Equipped with a shelf for bath accessories, a seat, and a headrest. Complete with a massage system the cost is about 40,000 rubles, without it - about 20,000 rubles.

Acrylic baths. Rating of “The whole truth about plumbing”

+7

-3

The acrylic bathtub market in Russia has undergone saturation. There are all sorts of Russian, European, and Chinese manufacturers here. To understand all the diversity, the editors decided to go to construction and plumbing stores in Moscow and compile their own rating.

We will select the most notable brands 1Mark, BAS, Bach, Akrilan, Radomir, Triton, Aquanet , Ravak, Kolpa-San, Riho, Pool SPA, Massimo, SSWW. They are all produced in different countries, but in this case the nationality of the brand does not matter to us. We will evaluate the parameters of the baths and give our ratings for each of them.

So, the following characteristics are important to us: 1) quality of bathtubs, 2) reliability, 3) hydromassage system design and assembly, 4) assortment, 5) price, 6) customer loyalty.

Bath quality

Russian manufacturers Aquanet, 1Marka, BAS use material with a thickness of 3.5 to 5 mm for the manufacture of bathtubs. The smaller the thickness of the sheet from which the bath is made, the lower its quality. Triton uses the Austrian Senosan, but saves on thickness (3.7-4 mm). The thin thickness of acrylic is also on Akrilan bathtubs.

Radomir bathtubs have a good indicator among domestic manufacturers; they have an acrylic thickness of 5-7 mm and are made from high-quality Austrian material. Czech Riho bathtubs are made of American-made cast acrylic with a thickness of 6 mm or more. The products are reinforced with a layer of polyester and fiberglass. Chinese bathtubs are very thin (no more than 3 mm) and also have a non-uniform acrylic thickness, which is especially noticeable when viewed through light.

On Kolpa-San bathtubs, a discrepancy between the color of the bathtub and the front screen was discovered.

The color difference between the bathtub and the panel was also noticed on Akrilan bathtubs. Instability of color indicates that the bathtub and the front panel are made of different materials.

Reliability of design and assembly

Reliable welded powder-painted frames are installed on Riho and Radomir bathtubs. PollSPA bathtub frames are of very high quality and stable. This is visible to the naked eye. They have multiple supports depending on the shape of the bowl and strong connections using threads and nuts.

In comparison with these manufacturers, acrylic bathtubs Kolpa-San, BAS, Triton and 1Mark have an unstable frame with a stud fastening.

While studying the design of Bach bathtubs (St. Petersburg), it was discovered that the manufacturer saves on strengthening them. Reinforcing the bowl with chipboard is done only under the frame slats, and not along the entire bottom. The absence of a solid embed will sooner or later lead to cracking of the bathtub. There is no reinforcement at the upper ends of the bathtub, and only point reinforcements have been added under the frame. There is also no reinforcement at the ends of the bathtubs on Ravak products.

When examining bathtub models, specialists found that some models had poor fitting accuracy of parts. For example, the assembly of Chinese bathtubs SSWW and Massimo, as well as Russian bathtubs Aquanet, BAS, Akrilan, is quite sloppy.

The mismatch between the geometry of the bathtubs and their panels leads to the formation of large gaps, which is immediately visible on the assembled products of the Triton company.

In the bathtubs of the Kazan manufacturer 1Mark, gaps were also noticed between the bathtub and the front panel. Even the products of the European manufacturer Ravak revealed a lack of front panel geometry.

On Akrilan bathtubs, the front panel is attached to the bathtub using screws and springs, which does not ensure the stability of the panel and its even fit to the bowl.

The front panels of Radomir bathtubs clearly follow the shape of the bowl

When examining the bathtub models, it was discovered that some models had poor fitting accuracy of the parts.

Hydromassage system

Among Western manufacturers, PoolSPA has good quality hydromassage systems. Powerful engines, durable pipes, protection against leaks, high-quality stainless steel jets - all this characterizes their products. Russian manufacturers Aquanet and Radomir have good hydromassage baths, and the latter has especially powerful motors up to 1500 W, a compact current protection device, convenient touch controls and high-quality elements of the hydromassage system of its own production. In our opinion, Triton bathtubs have low quality and sloppy assembly of the hydromassage system, which is a weak point.

Assortment of acrylic bathtubs

In the course of collecting data on manufacturers of acrylic bathtubs, the range of products of different brands was studied and the number of models of bathtubs produced was calculated.

The table shows that the widest range of acrylic bathtubs is offered by manufacturers Radomir, Kolpa-San, Riho and SSWW. However, with a large selection of bathtubs without hydromassage, Kolpa-San practically does not have bathtubs with a hydromassage system in its model range, and the Chinese brand SSWW, on the contrary, has a small assortment of empty acrylic bathtubs, like the Spanish brand PoolSPA. Therefore, in terms of the breadth of assortment, only the Russian company Radomir and the Czech manufacturer Riho can be distinguished.

Price of acrylic bathtubs

Prices for acrylic bathtubs depend on the quality of materials, production technology and differ markedly depending on the manufacturer. Well-known European brands carefully monitor quality, but the prices for such plumbing equipment are measured in hundreds of thousands of rubles, so imported products are of little interest to our customers.

Ravak 60,000-300,000 rub. Kolpa-San 55000-830000 rub. Riho 23000-250000 rub.

Chinese bathtubs have inconsistent quality and dubious warranties, which manufacturers try to compensate for with the number of options. Most Chinese baths are sold with hydromassage and a bunch of built-in functions, which no longer makes them so cheap. In addition, due to the rise in the dollar exchange rate, even simple Chinese baths have become noticeably more expensive.

SSWW 25000-90000 rub. (with hydromassage up to 200,000 rub.) Massimo 20,000-50,000 rub. (with hydromassage up to 50,000 rub.)

The “golden mean” is domestically produced bathtubs. In conditions of crisis and the desire for import substitution, buying a bathtub from a Russian manufacturer will be the most rational decision. Just not an economy option, but a mid-price segment. Radomir and Aquanet baths have the best price-quality ratio.

1 stamp 8000-50000 rub. (with hydromassage up to 65,000 rub.) BAS 6,000-30,000 rub. (with hydromassage up to 55,000 rub.) Bach 10,000-30,000 rub. (with hydromassage up to 55,000 rub.) Acrylan 13,000-32,000 rub. (with hydromassage up to 85,000 rub.) Radomir 18,000-60,000 rub. (with hydromassage up to 70,000 rub.) Triton 7,000-48,000 rub. (with hydromassage up to 60,000 rub.) Aquanet 8,000-35,000 rub. (with hydromassage up to 58,000 rub.)

As can be seen from the above list of prices, they are approximately the same for Russian manufacturers. The only difference is the quality of the product itself. A high-quality acrylic bathtub cannot cost less than 20 thousand rubles. Therefore, beware of baths that are too cheap; there is always a catch in quality.

Customer loyalty

A positive attitude towards a brand and product consists of many things. These are the reputation of the manufacturer, product quality, reasonable prices, promotions and discounts for customers, breadth of the model range, fulfillment of warranty obligations, friendly service, experience of operating other users.

According to available data, Russian plumbing fixtures are in stable demand today. Manufacturers offer high-quality products at competitive prices that successfully compete with European ones. Based on personal impressions based on online reviews, scores were assigned for this criterion as well.

Based on the results of a study of plumbing products from different manufacturers, a comparative table was compiled, which shows how well the brands meet the evaluation criteria (maximum score 5 points).

Installation and connection methods

Installed semicircular bathtub

Installation of acrylic products has its own characteristics. The material can easily be damaged by sharp objects, so care must be taken during installation. The light weight of the product requires careful preparation of the installation site. Without basic repair skills and the necessary tools, it is better to hire specialists.

For installation you will need the following materials and tools:

  • frame;
  • hammer, hammer drill, angle grinder;
  • adjustable wrench;
  • level;
  • construction tape;
  • corrugated pipe;
  • sealant;
  • fasteners.

Before installation, you need to prepare the place: dismantle the old mechanisms, level the floor and walls, carry out finishing work, install a sewer pipe in the right place.

Fixation on a metal frame

Usually supplied complete with a bathtub, but you can order the frame separately. A less reliable method than with brickwork, but much faster and easier to install. The best option for average apartments. Metal guides with holes are connected according to the assembly diagram to each other and to the racks using fasteners. Next, a bathtub is placed on the assembled frame. The joints with the walls are filled with sealant.

On a brick or concrete base

The most reliable method, but the most labor-intensive. This monolithic base will not allow the structure to sag or deform under the weight of water. Brickwork is laid out in accordance with the size of the bathtub, according to the level. The product is placed on top of sealants and attached to the walls using a metal corner. The method is suitable for installing large bathtubs.

On your feet

The easiest, but unreliable option. Without support, the bottom may become deformed. The legs are supplied complete and are fixed with self-tapping screws to the strips on the bottom of the bathtub. The sides are attached to the wall using fastening plates, which are pre-attached to the wall (the bathtub is placed on top).

When using any of the methods, the joints between the side and the wall are sealed, and decorative corners are installed.

The siphon system is connected before the final installation of the bath. Follow the instructions for installing the siphon that come with the kit. The mixer and screen are installed last.

Models of acrylic bathtubs from the manufacturer Bas

All company products are manufactured using modern Italian and American equipment. The products include a variety of shower enclosures, bath curtains, and there is also a huge selection of acrylic bathtubs. Despite the fact that bass bathtubs have up to 40 types of different models and some of them are similar to each other, each of them has certain functions and features.

Main causes of structural failure

Model “Laguna”

When various objects fall during operation, chips, cracks, scratches, and traces of the chemicals used appear on the inner surface. These defects can be eliminated at home yourself. To do this, you will need a repair kit for acrylic products, which is selected by color. It is best to choose from the store where you purchased the bathtub. Each category has its own type of repair kits.

The repair principle is as follows: the damaged area is cleaned, leveled, and an acrylic layer from the repair kit is applied.

For more serious breakdowns, contact professionals, an official service center. Most BAS bathtubs come with a 10 year warranty. The warranty agreement specifies the types of breakdowns that are subject to free repair at the company's expense.

Acrylic bathtubs: which manufacturer is better?

We can answer this question as follows: there is simply no clear leader; each of the companies in our rating has its own advantages and disadvantages, which will be more important for each of us. The only thing worth noting is that the quality of workmanship from foreign manufacturers is, if at all, not much better than domestic ones, but the price differs very much: in some cases, almost by an order of magnitude. It’s hardly worth paying extra money “for a name.”

Customer Reviews

Ivan, Moscow : “We have been using the Laguna bathtub from bas for about 2 years, no complaints. The main criterion when choosing was design; they did not delve into the characteristics. We were not disappointed in the choice - the quality turned out to be good. No special care is required, just wipe occasionally with a sponge and liquid soap. Small abrasions have appeared on the surface, so far unnoticeable, but when they become noticeable, we’ll try to cover them up ourselves.”

Nikolay, Moscow : “I bought an acrylic Laguna bathtub from BAS for a new spacious apartment. For a relatively low price (minimum configuration) we got a pretty good product. There are no complaints about the quality. There is no noise when drawing water, the heat lasts long enough. We recommend this model and manufacturer."

Sergey, Moscow : “When moving to a new studio apartment, we decided to change the standard bathtub; the choice fell on the Vectra corner model from BAS, because it is compact (150x90), beautiful and inexpensive. Allows you to really save space. On the advice of the seller, they placed it on a metal frame - nothing bends or sways. There have been no quality issues yet.”
