The cramped Khrushchevkas, which lack convenient layout and good sound insulation, have been replaced by more modern and comfortable Brezhnevkas. But even when designing them, the priority was to accommodate as many residents as possible, so there are plenty of disadvantages to such housing. For example, take at least the bathroom: in Khrushchevka it was combined, while in Brezhnevki some of the apartments were equipped with separate “conveniences”. But at the same time, the size of the bathrooms remained tiny. There are other design features that steal usable space and cause some inconvenience.

The main document, which at least somehow normalizes the size of bathrooms, is SNiP 2.08.01-89 “Design of residential buildings. Space-planning solutions." These building codes only specify the minimum width of a latrine, 800 mm, and its minimum depth, 1200 mm.
The dimensions of such, frankly speaking, very small restrooms are typical for almost all panel houses with sanitary cabins, as well as for houses called “Khrushchev” and almost all apartment buildings with a separate bathroom.

Finishing in a small Brezhnevka occupies the main place, because only with its help can a small room be presented favorably. First of all, you need to know that a dark palette is not for such a room. It will create a depressing impression. But light colors, on the contrary, will make the room more spacious and comfortable.
